Paul's Info

Being fit and active has always been important to me and as a teenager I started training in a martial art called hapkido and developed a real passion for it. I dedicated many years (and blood, sweat and tears) to focusing on martial arts training and gained my black belt in hapkido on Halloween 1994. I still trained competitively for many years after this and taught classes of my own as well as learning kickboxing, Thai boxing, jujitsu and competed in submission wrestling and MMA.

I realised I wanted to focus my career around fitness and share the joy and strengths that fitness has given me with others and started my new path in 2019. I qualified as a Level 2 Gym Instructor in 2019 and then did my Level 3 Personal Training qualification in 2020. Being as the Pandemic then hit, it made it difficult to use my new qualification to its full potential but I feel I am finally there! I have also gained qualifications in Level 2 Kettlebell Instructing and Nordic Walking.

I run regular fitness classes, bootcamps and personal training sessions and love all aspects of keeping fit and the variety that these bring. I had been looking for an opportunity to get into a gym environment to expand my personal training and am very excited to have been welcomed as a part of the team at RAW Fitness Studio!

One of the biggest and most rewarding achievements I get from Personal Training is taking on clients who might be unsure or unconfident in their own abilities, showing them how to do new things, encouraging them and watching how their confidence shines as they progress.
